Who we are – the people behind Malohana

We are Sabine and Thorsten.
And if you ask us how Malohana came into being, our story doesn't begin with a business plan.
But with a moment.
We were out and about. Hiking. Nature, peace, simply escaping everyday life.
And suddenly it was there – this name:
Malohana.
To this day, we don't know who said it first.
But we knew immediately: It fits.
The sound. The feeling.
The connection to Hawaii, to our honeymoon, to everything that is important to us.
On the very same day, we secured the domain.
We didn't know what exactly would come of it at the time.
What shaped us
We lived abroad for several years.
Far from home – and yet very close to ourselves.
This time changed us.
It sharpened our perspective on life.
On what really matters:
Honesty.
Closeness.
Trust.
Time.
We learned that you can feel at home anywhere –
if you stay true to yourself.
What Malohana means to us
Malohana is more than just a name to us.
It is a feeling.
An attitude.
A reminder of what is truly important.
Aloha – lightness and openness
Mahalo – gratitude and mindful moments
Ohana – connection and the feeling of home
These values guide us – in everyday life and in everything we create.
What comes of it
Malohana is still under construction.
We are currently developing our first scented candles and products for conscious feel-good moments – calm, warm and with great attention to detail.
Not loud.
Not arbitrary.
But real.
This is us
Not a perfect brand.
But people with an idea.
And the desire to create something that lasts.
